GIANTS Highlanders have confirmed the departure of Head coach Baltemar Brito and his assistant Antonio Torres.
A statement from the club ended the uncertainty surrounding the fate of the duo following a season of mixed fortunes, which saw Bosso eventually finishing in fifth place of the final log standings.
The Brazil-born football coach's contract is set to expire at the end of the month and speculation was rife in the Bosso corridors that the club will not renew the contract as the coach had failed to meet the expectations of delivering the league title.
A statement from Bosso said the club and the two expatriate coaches reached a mutual agreement not to extend the contracts.
"The club would like to inform its members, fans and all other stakeholders of the departure of coach Brito and assistant coach Antonio Torres," said Highlanders in a brief statement this Monday afternoon.
"Coach Brito and Torres' contracts with the club end on the 31st of December 2023, the club and the two coaches have mutually agreed not to extend their stay with the club beyond the stated period.
"The club thanks Mr. Brito and Mr. Torres for their time with the club and also wishes them all the best in their new endeavours," said the statement.
Brito has since landed the Zimbabwe national team job after agreeing to a contract running up to June 2024 with the ZIFA Normalisation Committee. Torres is also part of the Warriors set up as Fitness and Conditioning coach.
