Vice President Dr. Constantino Chiwenga emphasized Africa's resilience and unity in resisting neo-colonial influences through collaborative efforts and a shared vision. Speaking at Monte Cassino High School on Africa Day, he called on students, parents, and the Church to play a proactive role in combating drug and substance abuse.
Chiwenga urged the Church to support government initiatives and promote love, unity, and peace among citizens.
Saturday marked the 61st anniversary of the formation of the Organisation of African Unity, now evolved into the African Union.
Chiwenga reminded the gathering to remember the future generation as they celebrated Africa Day.
He called on citizens to fully engage in government programs and uphold values of patriotism and loyalty to the nation and its leadership.
Chiwenga highlighted the African Union's successes in decolonizing the continent, defending member states' sovereignty and territorial integrity, and resolving disputes between member states.
