The Umkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party has accused the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) of rigging the system.

The party briefed the media at the national Results Operations Centre in Midrand on Saturday evening.

It said it had evidence that the IEC and African National Congress (ANC) abused state resources to advance their own gains, against the will of the people.

The party claims to have recordings of individuals speaking about the IT system and how its party agents would be chased away.

Spokesperson Nhlamulo Ndlela said the almost two-hour interruption in the replication data from the National Results Centre was suspicious.

"We know exactly what was happening, and the audit that we now received confirms that in the form of a report - that there is an entity, an IT entity that was appointed, based in Cape Town, that interfered during that two-hour period."

They are also calling for a revote of the 2024 general elections.
