Man kills girlfriend in sex dispute

The love of sex led to the death of a Guruve woman who refused to go to her place demanding sex from her boyfriend who was done with her waiting for another woman.

Durai Chimujiri (40) of Bopoto village in Guruve was allegedly murdered by her boyfriend Bhandera Chibvaru (43) on Friday night.

Mashonaland Central police spokesperson Inspector Milton Mundembe confirmed the case.

"I can confirm a murder case in Guruve where a man allegedly killed his girlfriend in a sex dispute," Mundembe said.

Witnesses said Chibvaru invited his now-deceased girlfriend for a sleepover on Wednesday and it went on well.

The girlfriend reciprocated the next day and it went on well as the two enjoyed each other's company in this cold.

On Friday the two went to a nearby bar and drank illicit beer and the now deceased demanded to go to Chibvaru's house for a sleepover.

Chibvaru agreed and along the way he thought of having a sleepover with his ex-wife and that did not auger well with Chimujiri.

Chimujiri insisted on a sleepover with Chibvaru but he refused and became violent.

Chibvaru pushed his girlfriend who fell on her back and died on the spot.

The police warned people to desist from gender-based violence.

"The police do not condone gender-based violence, people should seek counselling when they have differences," Mundembe said.
