President Emmerson Mnangagwa emphasized that the ongoing Zanu-PF restructuring exercise should attract new members to the party. The restructuring began with Provincial Coordinating Committee meetings and inter-district meetings held across the country.
Speaking at the 376th Zanu-PF Politburo meeting in Harare, Mnangagwa urged Politburo members to provide continuous guidance and leadership.
He stressed the importance of strengthening grassroots structures and supporting the renewal and mobilisation efforts to grow the party. Mnangagwa challenged the Commissariat Department and other party wings to enhance their mobilisation strategies to meet targets and increase cell structures in both urban and rural areas, including through electronic registration of party members.

Mnangagwa called for collective action and unity within Zanu-PF, emphasizing that it is a people's party with a revolutionary mass base. He urged members to prioritize the party's goals of economic growth and prosperity, promoting responsible leadership at all levels from cell/village to national.

The restructuring aims to reinforce the party's grassroots presence and benefit the community. The actual restructuring is set to start on June 17 and conclude by July 17, 2024.
