The Law Society of Zimbabwe has deregistered two prominent Bulawayo lawyers, Mrs. Doreen Vundhla Phulu and Mr. Brighton Ndove, amid allegations of misconduct.
Mrs. Vundhla Phulu, the wife of Citizens Coalition for Change Senator Kacaca Phulu, was deregistered on April 3, 2024, and faces accusations of defrauding clients out of properties and money.
Mr. Ndove was deregistered on October 25, 2023. Both are no longer permitted to perform legal work, and the public is warned against engaging them.
Clients owed money by Mrs. Vundhla Phulu should contact curator Mr. V Majoko of Majoko and Majoko Legal Practitioners, while those owed by Mr. Ndove should approach curator Mr. Job Sibanda of Job Sibanda and Associates.
Additionally, the Law Society noted that another Bulawayo-based lawyer, Mr. Tungamirai Nyengera, is still registered but unlicensed for 2024 and thus not authorized to practice law. The public is advised against seeking legal services from him until he renews his Practicing Certificate.
