Nyasha Chisoko, a Zimbabwean entrepreneur based in South Africa, has been nominated for Female Personality of the Year at the prestigious Zimbabwe Achievers Awards (ZAA), recognizing her success in two thriving businesses.
Chisoko is the founder of MAZH Babies, a three-year-old company specializing in high-quality diaper bags, and she is also a retailer for Chelino Baby, one of South Africa's largest luxury stores, with outlets across the country. Her business was recently featured in renowned international publications, British Vogue and Glamour UK, marking significant milestones in her entrepreneurial journey.
In addition to her business ventures, Chisoko is a self-taught photographer and content creator. She also runs a beauty studio that has become a go-to destination for all of her clients' beauty needs, further establishing herself as a successful businesswoman in the highly competitive South African market.
In an interview, Chisoko expressed her gratitude and excitement over the nomination, emphasizing how much it means to her personally and professionally. "For me to even consider winning is crazy, because I am still soaking in being actually nominated. However, honestly, if I win, this will be a true reflection of how putting in the work is very important, even when you don't know what the future holds," she said.
She added that winning the award would open up more opportunities for her businesses, enhancing the credibility of her brands and paving the way for greater success. "This was never in my plans, but God always has bigger plans for us. I believe winning this award will absolutely add more credibility to my brands and surely open more business opportunities for me."
The ZAA ceremony will take place on November 30 at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Sandton, South Africa. The Zimbabwe Achievers Awards celebrate the accomplishments of Zimbabweans based in the diaspora, acknowledging their outstanding achievements in various fields. Past recipients include Hollywood actress Danai Gurira for her roles in The Walking Dead and Black Panther, Chipo Chung, and Luthuli Dhlamini of South Africa's Generations TV series.
The ZAA currently holds four regional editions: the UK, US, Australian, and South African editions. The ceremony is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious awards in the diaspora, with a growing number of nominees and recipients from various industries across the globe.
