Police investigate fatal hit-and-run accident in ?

Police in Nkayi have issued a confusing statement indicating that they are investigating a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred on November 23, 2024, at the 410-kilometre peg along the Harare-Bulawayo Road, Mbembesi.

It is not clear where the hit and run occurred and why Police in Nkayi will investigate an incident that occurred at the 410-kilometre peg along the Harare-Bulawayo Road, Mbembesi which is outside their jurisdiction. Maybe the Tweet was written by a police officer not well versed with the area they want to report about.

A man, believed to be approximately 27 years old, was struck by an unidentified vehicle and died at the scene. The motorist responsible for the accident fled without stopping.

The victim, who has yet to be identified, was found wearing a blue pair of jeans, a navy blue shirt, one black tennis shoe, and a brown sun hat.

A broken white fender piece with blood stains was discovered near the body, possibly providing a clue to the vehicle involved in the incident.

Police are urging anyone with information regarding the accident to come forward and report it to the nearest police station to assist with their investigations.
