A 45-year-old security guard from Plumtree is facing legal trouble after allegedly assaulting his colleague with a metal pipe following a dispute over a tobacco rolling paper.

Sipho Ncube appeared before Magistrate Joshua Nembaware on Friday and was remanded out of custody until December 10.

According to Prosecutor Selestine Madziwa, the incident occurred on November 2 at Lot 2 Mananda Farm in Figtree, where Ncube and his colleague were on duty. The two reportedly got into a heated argument over a tobacco rolling paper, which escalated when Ncube grabbed a nearby metal pipe.

In a fit of rage, Ncube allegedly used the pipe to strike his colleague multiple times, resulting in injuries. A police report was subsequently filed, and Ncube was arrested in connection with the assault.

The case is ongoing, with Ncube scheduled to appear in court again next week for further proceedings.
