A St Peter's Kubatana Industrial Training College teacher, Kudakwashe Jongwe, has been accused by the mother of one of his students of inappropriate conduct, including allegedly turning his house into a "love nest."

The confrontation between the teacher and the student's mother took place after Jongwe reportedly took the student for shopping before heading to his house.

The student's mother, speaking to H-Metro, claimed that Jongwe had been sexually harassing her daughter and making inappropriate comments towards her.

"Jongwe is unprofessional and has been harassing my daughter with love comments," she alleged.

She further stated that she refused to sign a document authorizing her daughter to go on a trip, but Jongwe allegedly took her shopping despite not being part of the trip.

"When I took the matter to the principal, he defended Jongwe, which angered me even more," she added.

Responding to the accusations, Jongwe confirmed the heated confrontation with the student's mother but denied any wrongdoing.

"Yes, the parent came here fuming about her daughter," Jongwe admitted.

He explained that the student was included in a trip to Bulawayo as part of the Student Representative Council (SRC).

"I took her along with other students to shop for groceries for the trip, but her mother refused to authorize her participation.

"She then accused me of bedding her daughter, which led to a clash.

"I never turned my house into a brothel as alleged. Instead, students who come to my house attend extra lessons," Jongwe insisted.

He added that he conducts extra lessons at a house opposite his residence and lives with his sister, Vimbai, dismissing allegations of inappropriate behavior.

"Anyone is welcome to come in person and speak to my principal for clarity," Jongwe concluded.

The allegations have sparked concerns over teacher-student relationships and professional conduct at the institution. It remains unclear whether further investigations will be carried out by the school authorities or law enforcement.
