Castle Lager Premier Soccer League minnows Dynamos are on the verge of overhauling their technical team, with seasoned gaffer Saul Chaminuka emerging as the leading contender to take over the reins following the dismissal of Lloyd "Mablanyo" Chigowe.

The DeMbare hierarchy confirmed on Monday the sacking of Chigowe and his entire technical team, a move triggered by a string of poor results, the latest being a disappointing 2–0 defeat to struggling Triangle FC at Gibbo Stadium on Sunday.

The defeat left Dynamos languishing third from the bottom of the league table with just eight points from 11 matches — a record that includes only one victory — plunging the club into an early-season crisis and fuelling discontent among the loyal fan base.

Club insiders say a new coaching team will be unveiled by Wednesday, with Chaminuka and Dutch tactician Hendrik Pieter de Jongh believed to be the final two names in serious contention. Talks with both coaches have reportedly intensified behind closed doors over the past few days.

"The decision had to be made. Results were not coming, and the club cannot afford to flirt with relegation," said a senior Dynamos official who requested anonymity. "We are working around the clock to announce the new coach by Wednesday."

Chaminuka, who boasts extensive local experience and is known for stabilising struggling teams, appears to have the edge, although de Jongh's international pedigree and prior stint with Highlanders add intrigue to the selection.

Dynamos fans, renowned for their high expectations, will be hoping the new technical team can arrest the current slump and reignite a campaign that's veering off course.

The move underscores growing urgency within the club to restore its former glory and avoid another forgettable season.
