Kapfupi begs Chivayo for another car

Zimbabwean comedian Freddy Manjalima, popularly known as Kapfupi, has publicly appealed to flamboyant businessman Wicknell Chivayo to gift him another car.

Kapfupi, who was previously gifted a Toyota Aqua by Chivayo in 2024, revealed that the vehicle was written off in a car accident in December of the same year. The accident left him without reliable transport, prompting his emotional plea for assistance.

Taking to Facebook, Kapfupi expressed deep gratitude to Chivayo for the life-changing gift, describing the car as essential in helping him travel to work and support his family. He thanked God for Chivayo's generosity, calling him a blessing to many.

However, Kapfupi also shared how misfortune struck on December 23, 2024, when he was involved in a serious accident that rendered the car beyond repair. He lamented that negative influences from his rural home contributed to the accident, which forced him to lose the vehicle.

In his heartfelt message, Kapfupi pleaded with Chivayo for another vehicle, saying he no longer has reliable means of transport. Using a Shona proverb - "mwana asingacheme anofira mumbereko" (a child who doesn't cry dies in the cradle) - he conveyed his desperation, stating that he cannot return to relying on kombis (public minibuses) when Chivayo is able to help.

"Baba, zvinonzi mwana asingacheme anofira mumbereko. Ini ndachemawo kwamuri zvakare Baba kuti handisisina chekufambisa. Baba mwana wenyu ndinga kwirawo makombi futi muripo here Baba? Ndinovimba message yangu inosvika kwamuri Baba Wicknell Chivhayo, ndatenda," Kapfupi wrote.

The comedian's open plea has drawn attention from fans and the public, sparking conversations about support for artists and entertainers in Zimbabwe.
