A 24-year-old woman from Mzilikazi suburb appeared in court on Thursday, accused of stealing a Samsung S24 phone and US$1 410 in cash from a man outside a local club.

Musawenkosi Ncube appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Takudzwa Gwazemba, facing charges of theft. She allegedly broke into Simiso Ndebele's car with two accomplices, stealing property valued at US$2 210.

Ncube was granted US$200 bail and is set to return to court on 12 September alongside her accomplice, Kudzai Chikwanha. The third suspect remains at large.

Prosecutor Sibusisiwe Sithole told the court that the incident occurred on 21 August at around 2 a.m., when Mr Ndebele had parked his car outside the club and fallen asleep without locking the doors.

Sithole said that Ncube, Chikwanha, and the unidentified accomplice hatched a plan to steal the valuables before fleeing the scene.
