General Mutamba honoured with Zimbabwe's top policing award

Commissioner General of Police Stephen Mutamba has been awarded the Grand Commander of the Zimbabwe Order of Merit (GCZM), one of the nation's highest honours, in recognition of his "exemplary and outstanding policing skills."

The accolade highlights Mutamba's leadership in major crime-reduction initiatives as well as his role in the modernisation of Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) operations.

The announcement was made by Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Permanent Secretary Nick Mangwana in a statement on X (formerly Twitter).

"IT is hereby notified, in terms of section 5(1)(c) of the Honours and Awards Act [Chapter 10:1], that His Excellency the President and Grand Master of the Order of Merit has granted the following award — Grand Commander of the Zimbabwe Order of Merit (GCZM). Mutamba Stephen," Mangwana wrote.

The GCZM is conferred on individuals who have made exceptional contributions to national service and development.
