Construction begins on Bulilima's first tarred road

Construction of the first tarred road in Bulilima District, Matabeleland South, has officially commenced. The 10-kilometre stretch runs from Plumtree town to just beyond Tsambani shops at Makwa River in Village 28 along the Plumtree-Dombodema Road.
The new road is expected to be a vital transport link, supporting heavy traffic and connecting Zimbabwe to Botswana via the Maitengwe Border Post.
A news crew observed construction vehicles actively engaged in surfacing works on Thursday. An official from the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development confirmed that Transport Minister Felix Mhona is scheduled to tour the project site during the first week of October.
