Vice President Constantino Chiwenga has renewed his warnings against wealthy elites, commonly referred to as "Zviganandas," stressing that Zimbabwe's Vision 2030 must benefit all citizens rather than a select few.

Addressing delegates at the ongoing Zanu-PF National People's Conference in Mutare, Chiwenga said the country's resources should be equitably shared to ensure national development serves both current and future generations.

"The national cake must be enjoyed by all Zimbabweans, not just the connected or privileged few," Chiwenga said, highlighting the need to curb economic inequality and promote inclusive growth under the party's Vision 2030 agenda.

At the same conference, President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa cautioned against attempting to govern the country through social media. "Nyika ino haitongwi paSocial Media. Hayisi yekutamba nayo; yakatengwa neropa rerusununguko, ropa revana veZimbabwe vakarara kumasango," he said, reaffirming Zanu-PF's commitment to safeguarding national unity, peace, democracy, independence, and sovereignty.

The President added that the party would continue to honour the sacrifices of fallen liberation heroes and protect Zimbabwe's hard-won heritage. "SeZanu-PF hatikanganwe. Ticharamba tichichengetedza nhaka yedu," Mnangagwa said.

The speeches underscore a dual focus at the Mutare conference: tackling elite capture of the economy while reaffirming the party's pledge to national cohesion and the legacy of the liberation struggle.
