Mazowe police arrest machete-wielding gang linked to farm robberies

MAZOWE - Police in Mazowe have arrested a machete-wielding gang suspected of carrying out a series of violent robberies at Cress Farm, Storis Mine, and Umsasa Farm between November 11 and 12, 2025.
The arrests were confirmed via the Zimbabwe Republic Police's official X account, with authorities stating that the suspects assaulted multiple victims before stealing a high-beam searchlight, two cellphones, and US$680 in cash.
"The arrest led to the recovery of four machetes and five Columbia knives," police said.
The suspects were identified as:
- Taka Gomo (29)
- Tafara Nyikadzino (27)
- Giveus Bhangeni (22)
- Johnson Marufu (23)
- Witness Madzima (27)
- Obvius Karambakuhwa (27)
- Kudakwashe Chimanikire (23)
- Crispen Manyama (28)
- Nyasha Saka (30)
- Blessing Chirimamumba (22)
- Ronald Fositara (21)
- Blessing Mabare (24)
