Chiwenga, Tagwirei must undergo taining at Chitepo Ideological College

Zanu-PF spokesperson Chris Mutsvangwa has called for Vice-President Constantino Chiwenga and Central Committee member Kudakwashe Tagwirei to undergo training at the party's Herbert Chitepo Ideological College.

The Herbert Chitepo School of Ideology, a highly controversial institution named after the late liberation struggle stalwart Herbert Chitepo, is designed to instill political orientation, ideological grounding, and indoctrination for members of the ruling party. The school seeks to uphold and teach principles that interpret Zimbabwe's history, present, and future through a framework aligned with Zanu-PF's stated ideological positions.

The party claims to be rooted in socialism, anti-imperialism, Pan-Africanism, and the values of the liberation struggle, with an emphasis on the decolonisation of Zimbabwe. Mutsvangwa's call for Chiwenga and Tagwirei to attend the college underscores ongoing factional tensions within the party as it continues to assert ideological conformity among its top leadership.
