A 24-year-old woman from Tsholotsho District has been sentenced to 18 years in prison after being convicted on six counts of sexually abusing two male juveniles.
The woman from Sipepa area, who cannot be named to protect the identities of the minors, appeared before Bulawayo Regional Magistrate, Mr Lungile Ncube, charged with sexually abusing two boys aged 12 and 15 at her home.
Prosecuting, Mr Sehliselo Khumalo told the court that sometime in July this year, the two complainants were at the accused's residence watching movies on a mobile phone.
The court heard that the woman later called the boys into her bedroom, where she allegedly initiated inappropriate conduct.
"The accused told the two boys that her boyfriend was not good enough in bed and instructed each boy to participate, directing them on what to do," said Mr Khumalo.
The court heard that the minors took turns complying with her demands, acting under her instructions and influence.
"The boys were going after one another if one got tired," added Mr Khumalo.
The matter came to light when the 12-year-old boy complained to his mother about discomfort on his private parts.
After questioning him, the mother alerted the police, leading to the arrest of the accused.
In passing sentence, Mr Ncube handed the accused an effective 18-year jail term, after merging counts 1, 3 and 5 into a three-year sentence and counts 2, 4 and 6 into a 15-year sentence, all to run concurrently.
