Police release images of drug consignment smuggled by local company

HARARE – The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) have released images of a large consignment of drugs intercepted in Harare, reportedly smuggled by a truck owned by Chita One Investments.


In a post on X, the police said they are intensifying efforts to combat drug trafficking and abuse.

“The ZRP releases images of exhibits recovered when a haulage truck owned by Chita One Investments was intercepted along Harare‑Beitbridge Road with 221 kg of dagga (14 bales), 1,550 x 100ml bottles of Broncleer cough syrup, 810 x 100ml bottles of Astra Pain cough syrup and 960 x 100ml bottles of Benylin,” the police posted.

#No to drug peddling and illicit substances,” the post added.

The images show the seized dagga bales and boxes of cough syrups displayed in front of the intercepted truck, underscoring the scale of the operation.
