Varakashi4ED, a Zanu PF‑aligned affiliate group, has praised the ongoing rehabilitation of Tsununu Road in Makonde, Mashonaland West, describing it as a long‑overdue milestone for the community.
In a statement posted on X, the group said the roadworks were progressing well.
"The grading of Tsununu Road in Makonde Constituency, Mashonaland West, is progressing well, with the grader now working around the Chijaka area. This long‑overdue development marks a major milestone for a road that had not received attention for the past 15 years," the group said.
They expressed gratitude to President Emmerson Mnangagwa and Makonde legislator Simbarashe Ziyambi for prioritising the project.
"We extend our sincere gratitude to His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Emmerson @edmnangagwa, for his visionary leadership, and to his representative Cde Simbarashe Ziyambi for ensuring this critical road was prioritised. Special appreciation also goes to the Director General of RIDA, Cde Christopher Shumba, and the RIDA Provincial Director, Engineer Chikaka, for their commitment and swift implementation."
Varakashi4ED also acknowledged local miners for providing diesel to support the works, while Ziyambi reportedly committed an additional 200 litres of fuel to ensure continued progress.
"Road rehabilitation is central to economic development, service delivery and community connectivity. We are encouraged by the tangible progress being made under the leadership of President Emmerson D. Mnangagwa, delivered through responsive and people‑centred leadership on the ground," the group added.
