Dynamos Football Club are reportedly considering a bold move to bring back former coach Kalisto Pasuwa, following their narrow escape from relegation in the Premier Soccer League.

Pasuwa, who currently coaches the Malawi senior national team under a contract running until 2027, is the last coach to deliver a league title to Dynamos, achieving a historic four-peat from 2011 to 2014. His tenure is remembered for dominant, attacking football that set new standards in Zimbabwean club football.

Sources indicate that the incoming Dynamos executive committee, led by chairman Vincent Chawonza, is exploring the possibility of securing Pasuwa's return. While the discussions are at a delicate stage, the coach is reportedly open to coming back, provided formal procedures are followed and a structured negotiation with the Football Association of Malawi is conducted.

"Coach Pasuwa holds Dynamos in very high regard, but there is also respect for his current contract with Malawi," a source told Zimpapers Sports Hub. "Any move would require a formal approach, but there is strong will on both sides to make this reunion happen."

Dynamos are also considering other potential candidates, including former defender and current Warriors assistant coach Kaitano Tembo, as well as Genesis Mangombe. The search for Kelvin Kaindu's replacement marks one of the first major tasks for the new executive as they prepare to strengthen the squad for the 2026 season.

The club's recent revival under Kaindu, aided by Thomas Ruzive and ex-striker Takesure Chinyama, saw Dynamos escape relegation and clinch a third consecutive Chibuku Super Cup. However, the appointment of a new head coach is seen as vital to professionalising the club and laying the foundations for a successful campaign next year.
