Slain broadcaster's boyfriend remanded in custody

The prime suspect in the murder of broadcaster Cordelia Masalethulini appeared in court today and was remanded in custody until January 22.
Fungai Quintone Tawengwa, 46, who is reportedly Masalethulini's boyfriend, appeared before Harare magistrate Ruth Moyo facing charges of murder.
Magistrate Moyo informed Tawengwa that he is facing a third schedule offence, meaning that only the High Court has the jurisdiction to grant him bail.
According to the prosecution, Cordelia Masalethulini, 45, was found dead under suspicious circumstances. Her half-naked body was discovered along Domboshava Road in Borrowdale by a security guard.
Investigations are ongoing as authorities continue to probe the circumstances surrounding her death.
