Genesis Mangombe has made a surprise return as Dynamos head coach following his appointment on Thursday, marking his second stint at the Harare giants.
The 43-year-old tactician was previously dismissed in August 2024 after a run of poor results, but has now been handed another opportunity to lead Dembare.
Mangombe rejoins Dynamos from the Lowveld, where he recently guided Triangle FC to safety, helping the club avoid relegation.
During his earlier spell at Dynamos, Mangombe enjoyed notable success, leading the club to the 2023 Chibuku Super Cup title — his only piece of silverware in the Premier Soccer League to date.
Beyond his achievements at Dynamos, the coach also boasts of winning the 2024 Northern Region Soccer League title with Scottland FC, underlining his credentials as an experienced campaigner on the domestic scene.
Mangombe's return has been facilitated by the club's new chairman, Mr Vincent Chawonza, who was vice chairman during the coach's previous tenure.
Dynamos are yet to officially announce the rest of Mangombe's technical team. However, NewZimbabwe.com understands that Thomas Ruzive is expected to remain at the club as assistant coach.
