The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) has issued a stern warning to the public over fraudsters posing as its officials, putting unsuspecting taxpayers at risk of financial loss.
In a public notice dated Monday, 12 January, ZIMRA emphasized that all its officers carry verifiable identification and that any enforcement or seizure actions are conducted legally, transparently, and with full documentation.
The tax authority urged citizens to remain vigilant and to verify the credentials of anyone claiming to act on ZIMRA's behalf. Members of the public are encouraged to report suspicious activities or attempted scams to the Authority promptly to prevent fraud and protect themselves from potential financial harm.
ZIMRA's warning highlights ongoing concerns about fraudulent schemes targeting taxpayers and reinforces the need for caution when approached by individuals claiming to be government officials.
