Duo steals US$2 300 from miner

Two men, Proud Ncube (25) and Welcom Ndlovu (24), have appeared in court after they allegedly assaulted a miner and stole his money and gold ore.
The pair appeared before Plumtree magistrate Joshua Nembaware facing robbery charges.
Prosecutor Sheila Nyathi told the court that on 16 January, the complainant was walking from his hammer mill at King Riches Mine in Matobo when he encountered the two accused persons.
They allegedly struck him with an unknown object, causing him to fall to the ground. The duo then grabbed his bag, which contained cash amounting to US$2 300 and gold ore, before fleeing the scene.
The miner filed a police report the following day, leading to the arrest of Ncube and Ndlovu.
