Man fatally assaults rival suitor

A 32-year-old Harare man, Kenneth Kundai Madzisoaguta, has been formally charged with murder following the alleged fatal assault of a rival suitor.
Madzisoaguta appeared before Harare magistrate Ms. Ruth Moyo yesterday and was remanded in custody until February 10. He was advised to apply for bail at the High Court.
According to the State, the incident occurred in October 2025 at the home of Madzisoaguta's girlfriend. A confrontation broke out between Madzisoaguta and the victim, whose name has not been released. During the altercation, Madzisoaguta allegedly struck the man with an unidentified object before taking his cellphone and identification documents.
The victim reportedly managed to escape to his residence but suffered rapidly deteriorating health. He was later admitted to Blue Waters Private Clinic, where he succumbed to his injuries.
A post-mortem examination determined the cause of death to be severe brain edema, subdural haemorrhage, and severe head trauma, consistent with the assault.
The case remains under investigation as authorities prepare for the upcoming court proceedings.
