The newly-built Chahwanda Stadium in Kwekwe is set to be officially commissioned on February 28. The facility, constructed by businessman Shepherd Chahwanda, will be inaugurated by President Emmerson Mnangagwa to mark the start of its full operations.

The stadium's opening has prompted the Premier Soccer League (PSL) to reschedule the Castle Challenge Cup clash between Dynamos and Scottland FC from February 20 to March 1. The venue, with a seating capacity of 20,000, is set to be one of the official PSL grounds for the 2026 season.

Chahwanda Stadium will serve as the home ground for PSL newcomers Hardrock FC, a team owned by Chahwanda himself. The facility, also known as The Heart Main Arena, was built with support from Yadah FC owner Prophet Walter Magaya, who is a business partner of Chahwanda.

In addition to hosting local league matches, the stadium meets CAF Category B standards, making it eligible to host continental games. The commissioning is expected to mark a significant boost for football infrastructure in the Midlands province.
