A 22-bed state-of-the-art orthopaedic hospital under construction in Manhize, Chikomba District, is now 70 percent complete and on course for commissioning by March.

The facility, situated in the constituency of Information Communication Technology Minister Tatenda Mavetera, is expected to significantly improve access to specialised orthopaedic care for communities in the district and surrounding areas once operational.

Upon completion, the hospital will be equipped with modern medical technology aimed at enhancing the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of patients with musculoskeletal conditions. The development is set to ease the burden on referral hospitals by bringing specialised services closer to rural and peri-urban populations.

Authorities say the project forms part of broader efforts to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and decentralise specialist services across the country.
