Following the Lady Chevrons' disappointing campaign at the 2026 ICC T20 Global Qualifiers in Nepal, Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) has appointed a new interim technical team ahead of the team's tour to New Zealand.
In a statement, ZC managing director Givemore Makoni confirmed the changes, saying the decision was made in response to the team's recent performance.
"We felt it was important to act decisively following the recent T20 World Cup Qualifier campaign," Makoni said.
"As we enter the ICC Women's Championship for the first time, this is a significant moment for Zimbabwe Women's cricket and it demands renewed focus, energy and accountability."
ZC announced that former New Zealand international Kate Ebrahim will take charge of the Lady Chevrons on an interim basis for the upcoming tour of New Zealand.
Ebrahim brings valuable international experience, including familiarity with local playing conditions in New Zealand, which ZC believes will be crucial for the tour.
"We believe she is well placed to guide the team during this important tour while we finalise permanent appointments," Makoni said.
The restructuring comes at a pivotal time for the Lady Chevrons as they prepare to compete in the ICC Women's Championship for the first time, marking a new chapter in Zimbabwe Women's cricket.
