The City of Bulawayo is rehabilitating a section of Old Khami Road as part of ongoing efforts to improve traffic flow and restore sections of the city's road network.
The stretch currently under repair had become virtually untrafficable, making it difficult and unsafe for motorists to navigate.
Council teams are carrying out pothole patching and road overlays to restore the surface and enhance trafficability along the affected section.
The local authority said the works form part of targeted road rehabilitation programmes being implemented across the city.
Officials noted that the interventions are being undertaken within the constraints of limited financial resources, as council seeks to strike a balance between budgetary pressures and the urgent need to improve road infrastructure.
Motorists have been urged to exercise caution when travelling through the construction zone while rehabilitation works are in progress.
