1 dead in truck overturn accident on Matopos Road

A fatal road traffic accident occurred on Tuesday evening along Matopos Road in Bulawayo after a truck overturned, trapping two people.

Chief Fire Officer Mr Mhlangano Moyo of the Bulawayo Fire Brigade confirmed that emergency teams responded swiftly to the scene. Three ambulances were dispatched, and rescue personnel worked to extricate the trapped victims from the wreckage.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene, while the second victim was successfully rescued and treated by ambulance crews on site. The condition of the survivor had not been disclosed at the time of reporting.

Authorities are yet to provide further details regarding the cause of the accident.
