The Bulawayo Fire Brigade is attending to multiple flooding incidents affecting several western suburbs of the city, Chief Fire Officer Mr Mhlangano Moyo confirmed on Tuesday evening.
Bulawayo experienced heavy rains from the afternoon into the evening on Tuesday, leading to water accumulation in a number of residential areas.
According to Mr Moyo, the hardest-hit suburbs include Luveve 5, Emakhandeni and Pelandaba West.
"The flooding has been attributed to weep hole issues, which have resulted in water accumulation in residential sections," he said.
Emergency response teams have since been dispatched to assess the extent of the damage and assist affected residents, with authorities continuing to monitor the situation as more rainfall is expected.
