5 dead, 60 injured in N6 bus crash carrying Zimbabwean passengers

Police are investigating a tragic collision between a bus and a car on the N6 road between KuGompo (formerly East London) and Stutterheim, which claimed five lives and left 60 people injured.
The accident occurred on Sunday night when the bus, carrying 60 Zimbabwean nationals en route to Stutterheim, collided with a car containing five occupants. The car became trapped underneath the bus, and rescue teams used the jaws of life to recover the deceased.
Makhaya Komisa urged motorists to follow road safety rules, emphasizing that the main cause of the crash will be investigated by law enforcement agencies.
A case of culpable homicide and reckless driving has been opened at Stutterheim Police Station.
Xolile Nqatha conveyed condolences to the families of the deceased and wished the injured a speedy recovery. He called on all drivers to exercise caution and comply with traffic regulations to prevent further tragedies.
