Emmerson Mnangagwa has been honoured with the Munhumutapa Leadership Excellence Award in recognition of his contributions to national development and transformative leadership.
The accolade acknowledges the President's commitment to advancing Zimbabwe's development agenda across all 10 provinces under the philosophy of "leaving no one and no place behind."
At the award ceremony, Pardon Mangwende, executive director of Legacy TV, said the award reflects Mnangagwa's vision for transforming the country into an upper-middle-income economy by 2030.
"This award reflects President Mnangagwa's political will to stimulate socio-economic growth and enhance the quality of life for all Zimbabweans. We are witnessing significant developmental strides, including road rehabilitation, food security initiatives, and efforts to control inflation," Mangwende said.
He also highlighted that the award embodies the philosophy of "Nyika inovakwa nevene vayo / Ilizwe lakhiwa ngabanikazi balo," emphasising that Zimbabwe's progress should be citizen-driven.
The Munhumutapa Leadership Excellence Award is linked to the annual commemoration of Munhumutapa Day on September 15, coinciding with the President's birthday and celebrating the legacy of the Mutapa Empire, historically renowned for strong governance and prosperity.
The recognition forms part of the 2024/2025 Legacy Empowerment Awards, which honoured various Zanu-PF members for their dedication to the party and the nation.
Mangwende noted that award recipients would receive monetary rewards as a demonstration of their commitment to serving Zimbabwe.
President Mnangagwa continues to advocate for unity, innovation, and hard work as the nation advances toward its Vision 2030 development objectives.
