A 60-year-old woman from Glen Norah has died from injuries sustained during a violent assault allegedly carried out by her husband.

The deceased, Georgina Chiramba, was attacked by her spouse, Patrick Bimha, on February 23, 2026. According to police reports, Bimha allegedly used a spanner and his fists during the attack.

The assault occurred at approximately 7PM during a heated argument inside their home. Chiramba sustained a swollen forehead and a severe cut on her nose after being struck multiple times on the face and head.

Later that evening, around 11PM, she reported the incident to Zimbabwe Republic Police Glen Norah Station, but her husband had already fled the scene.

On March 2, 2026, Chiramba visited Health Direct Medical Centre for evaluation and was referred for a CT scan. She underwent the scan at Baines Imaging Group on March 5 and was instructed to return the following day for results.

After collecting her scan results, her condition worsened, and she was pronounced dead upon arrival at Sally Mugabe Central Hospital.

Family spokesperson Kudzai Chiramba confirmed that Georgina will be laid to rest in Silobela.

"This heartbreaking incident underscores the urgent need for awareness and preventive measures against domestic violence. We are urging those in similar situations to seek help before it's too late," said Glen Norah resident Thomas Makina.

Police have launched a manhunt for Bimha, who remains at large, and investigations into the incident are ongoing.
