Police in the Midlands are searching for Nhlalo Darlington Baloyi after he allegedly murdered his wife, Partricia Nyathi, at their home in Mkoba 4, Gweru last Monday.
Baloyi, a 37-year-old artisanal miner from Mkonto Village, Chief Ntabeni in Zhombe, is accused of repeatedly striking Nyathi on the head with a hammer after alleging she was unfaithful.
Midlands Police Spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko described Baloyi as a well-known artisanal miner in Shurugwi and urged anyone with information on his whereabouts to report to the nearest police station or via the ZRP WhatsApp platform on 0712800197.
Reports indicate that Nyathi had been living with Baloyi in Mkoba 4 since December 2025. On the day of the incident, she was doing laundry outside the house when Baloyi first threatened her with a vehicle shock absorber, which was stopped by Nyathi's 13-year-old daughter, Sibothabo Sibanda. He then returned with a hammer and allegedly struck Nyathi multiple times on the head, resulting in her death.
