Vice President Dr Constantino Chiwenga is continuing his nationwide tour of major economic projects, with his latest stop taking him to Manicaland Province as part of Government efforts to boost high-impact developments aligned with the national development agenda.

The visits are tied to recent project ground-breaking ceremonies and are aimed at accelerating progress under Zimbabwe's development blueprint, which emphasises private sector-led growth and industrialisation.

In Manicaland, the Vice President is expected to visit three key sites: Dorowa Minerals Limited in Dorowa, Sabi Star Lithium Mine, and Verify Engineering in Mutare.

Dorowa Minerals, Zimbabwe's only phosphate mine, once produced around 150,000 tonnes annually but had declined significantly to about 3,500 tonnes. However, the company has now secured a US$5.3 million loan to support Phase 1 of its restoration and revitalisation efforts.

At Sabi Star Lithium Mine, Government is focusing on harnessing Zimbabwe's lithium resources to drive value addition, beneficiation, and industrialisation, key pillars for long-term economic growth and stability.

The tour will conclude at Verify Engineering, a gas production company in Mutare that has expanded its operations and is now supplying international markets, reflecting growing export potential in the energy sector.

Vice President Chiwenga is accompanied by Manicaland Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Misheck Mugadza, along with senior officials from the Office of the President and Cabinet, including Deputy Chief Secretary Engineer Amos Marawa.

The Manicaland visit follows similar inspections and engagements conducted in Matabeleland South, Matabeleland North, Bulawayo, Midlands, and Masvingo provinces, as Government continues to push for economic recovery and industrial expansion across the country.
