Man arrested in bus for possession of 11 cobs of dagga

Police in Matabeleland South have arrested a man who was travelling in a cross‑border bus after he was found in possession of 11 cobs of dagga.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police revealed the arrest via their X account, stating that the incident occurred on 20 March in Beitbridge.

"On 20/03/26, police in Beitbridge intercepted a cross‑border bus and arrested Mathew Sakabvundura (42) in connection with unlawful possession of 11 cobs of dagga," police said. "The suspect was a passenger in the bus."

In a separate incident, police arrested Simelinkosi Sibanda (40) and Thaboluhle Mpofu (37) on 19 March at S'khulu Village in Plumtree after they were found in possession of 448 sachets of dagga.

Police said the dagga was stashed inside a 20‑litre bucket.
