Three arrested in Beitbridge with 230kg of dagga

Police in Beitbridge have arrested three men after intercepting a vehicle carrying a large consignment of dagga at the entrance to Bubye Valley Conservancy.
The suspects - Archwel Mutanga (43), Shakemore Mugombe (36) and Brighton Mavusi (27) - were apprehended on 28 March 2026 while travelling in a Toyota Hilux.
According to police, the trio was stopped at the conservancy's entrance gate, where officers conducted a search of the vehicle. The search led to the discovery of five bales and 63 cobs of dagga concealed inside the vehicle.
Authorities estimate the recovered consignment to weigh approximately 230 kilogrammes.
The suspects are now in police custody and are expected to face charges related to the unlawful possession of dangerous drugs.
Police have reiterated their commitment to combating drug trafficking and abuse, urging members of the public to report suspicious activities as part of ongoing efforts under the NoToDangerousDrugs campaign.
