A visit by Dynamos F.C. brought a rare moment of relief to Ronald Mujuru, who is mourning the devastating loss of his entire family in a recent road accident.

Mujuru lost his wife, Lilian, and five children in a tragic crash along the Masvingo–Harare highway near Chatsworth turn-off last week. The family had been travelling to a church conference when the accident occurred, leaving the nation in shock and drawing widespread sympathy.

His mother, Shelly Mujuru, said she was surprised to see her son smile for the first time in nearly a week when the Dynamos delegation visited his home in Tynwald North, Harare. The football club, affectionately known as DeMbare, holds a special place in Mujuru's life as he is a devoted supporter.

Led by club officials, the team visited to offer condolences and solidarity. The emotional gathering saw Mujuru embracing players and staff, with grief evident throughout. However, the atmosphere briefly lifted during prayers and songs, allowing him to express gratitude for the gesture.

"I feel like a huge lump on my chest has been removed," Mujuru said, describing the visit as deeply meaningful.

The club had earlier observed a moment of silence and dedicated their 1-0 victory over Simba Bhora to the memory of his family. They also presented Mujuru with a VVIP season ticket and pledged ongoing support, including regular visits.

Family members and relatives, many of whom travelled from Chivhu, continue to stay with Mujuru as he navigates the immense loss. His mother described the tragedy as deeply painful, recalling her close bond with her daughter-in-law and grandchildren.

Also present during the mourning period was Auxillia Mnangagwa, whose visit, along with that of Dynamos, has helped provide some comfort during what is expected to be a long healing process.

The tragedy has touched many across the country, with the outpouring of support highlighting the strength of community in times of grief.
