1 dead, 3 injured in Bulawayo council truck crash

A fatal road traffic accident involving a Bulawayo City Council truck and a commuter omnibus has left one person dead and three others seriously injured.
The collision occurred on April 21, 2026, at the intersection of Falls Road and Old Falls Road in Bulawayo, according to council authorities.
In a statement, Town Clerk Christopher Dube confirmed the incident, expressing regret over the loss of life and injuries sustained.
"The City of Bulawayo regrets to inform residents and stakeholders that one of our trucks was involved in a road traffic collision with a commuter omnibus resulting in the passing on of a passenger while three others sustained serious injuries," he said.
Mayor David Coltart, along with councillors, council management and staff, conveyed their condolences to the bereaved family and wished those injured a speedy recovery.
"His Worship Senator David Coltart, the Mayor, councillors, the Town Clerk Mr Christopher Dube, heads of council departments and the staff of the City of Bulawayo extend their heartfelt condolences to the family that lost its loved one and wish a speedy recovery to those who sustained injuries," read the statement.
