Illegal drug factory busted in Zimbabwe

The Zimbabwe Republic Police has confirmed the arrest of a 25-year-old man in connection with the alleged illegal manufacturing of medicines at an unlicensed premises in ZIMRE Park, Ruwa.
Police identified the suspect as Blessed Magagoyi, who was arrested on May 14, 2026, following a raid that led to the recovery of medicine manufacturing equipment and various finished medicinal products with an estimated street value of US$25 000.
According to police, the recovered products include Honey Bean Medicines, Gut Restore Powdered Medicine, Cynocene Medicines, Fotal Harmony and Cardio Cene Capsules.
Authorities also seized raw materials used in the production of the medicines, as well as packaging equipment believed to have been used in the operation.
The ZRP said investigations are currently underway to establish the source of the raw materials and determine the full extent of the alleged illegal operation.
Police are also searching for a second suspect identified as Tonee Tapiwa Vambe, who is wanted in connection with the case.
"The investigations are in progress to account for the source of the raw materials and to arrest the second suspect, Tonee Tapiwa Vambe, who is being sought in connection with the case," police said in a statement.
The ZRP appealed to members of the public with information regarding the whereabouts of the suspect to report to the nearest police station.
