Rapist infects grade two pupil with STI

A 24‑year‑old Mount Darwin man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for raping two Grade Two pupils in a bushy area of the district.
Peter Kambamura was convicted on two counts of rape by a Bindura regional magistrate on Friday.
Prosecutor Edward Katsvairo told the court that on 26 January, Kambamura came across the two minor girls while they were picking wild fruits. He threatened to kill them before raping both of them.
The matter came to light when the mother of one of the victims noticed signs of a sexually transmitted infection on her daughter and questioned her. The child then revealed the rape, and her friend also disclosed her own ordeal to her mother.
The cases were reported to the police, leading to Kambamura's arrest.
