Dynamos FC have clarified that Genesis Mangombe remains the club's head coach despite his suspension, saying no decision has been made to dismiss him while disciplinary proceedings are underway.

The club's statement comes amid growing speculation over Mangombe's future following the arrival in Zimbabwe of Serbian football coach Aristica Cioaba.

Dynamos said Mangombe has not been relieved of his duties but has been placed on suspension pending the outcome of an internal disciplinary process expected to be concluded within the next two weeks.

"We have not axed the coach of his duties; he is on suspension," the club said.

"The issues are still being investigated so he is suspended pending disciplinary hearing proceedings which we expect to take place in the coming 14 days."

The clarification follows widespread reports linking Cioaba with the head coach's position after he was spotted in the country.

However, Dynamos said the Serbian coach is being recruited as the club's Technical Director and not as Mangombe's replacement.

"Cioaba is set to come in as our Technical Director. He is not taking over Mangombe's post and hopefully by the end of the day on Friday his paperwork will be completed," the club said.

Cioaba is reportedly awaiting the completion of his work permit before formally assuming his new role.

Mangombe's suspension has attracted significant attention among Dynamos supporters, many of whom had questioned the club's decision following an improvement in performances after last season's relegation battle.

The disciplinary process is expected to determine Mangombe's future at the Harare giants, while Cioaba's appointment as Technical Director is set to strengthen the club's technical department rather than alter the current coaching structure.
