Baba Harare's missing luggage found

Jiti musician Baba Harare says the luggage that went missing during his journey from the United Kingdom has finally been located and is now on its way to Harare, bringing an end to a saga that sparked widespread criticism of Ethiopian Airlines on social media.

The entertainer had ignited an online storm after revealing that his suitcase, containing valuable filming equipment and clothing for upcoming projects, disappeared during his return flight. His ordeal prompted many Zimbabweans to share similar experiences with the airline, turning the incident into a trending topic.

At the height of the controversy, Baba Harare said the loss could not have come at a worse time as he prepared for the release of his new album, Pedzai Navo, scheduled for August 1.

"That missing bag contains essential filming equipment, clothing and outfits that I need for upcoming music videos and preparations for my new album, Pedzai Navo, which launches on 1 August. Every day that my luggage remained missing delayed my work and affected my ability to deliver for my fans," he said.

The musician also accused Ethiopian Airlines of deleting comments from his supporters, whom he referred to as the "Jiti family", on the airline's social media platforms, arguing that customer concerns should be addressed through engagement rather than moderation.

In an update shared with his followers, Baba Harare confirmed that the missing luggage had been traced and was in transit to Zimbabwe.

"Hanzi bhegi renyika rawanikwa. It's on transit to Harare. Mangwana ndokuudzai kana rasvika. Thank you Zimbabwe mandigonera," he posted.

His announcement was met with relief from fans who had followed the story closely and rallied behind him throughout the ordeal.

The recovery of the luggage comes as Baba Harare intensifies preparations for the launch of Pedzai Navo, marking his return to jiti music after stepping away from gospel, a move that has generated significant interest among his supporters.
