Zanu‑PF applauds Sakunda Holdings for bankrolling Constitutional Amendment Act 3 celebrations

EPWORTH — Senior Zanu‑PF leaders on Monday praised Sakunda Holdings for mobilising resources towards the success of celebrations marking President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s assent to Constitution Amendment Act No. 3, with party officials saying the conglomerate bankrolled events held in Epworth and across Harare.
Thousands of supporters, war veterans, women’s league members and youth activists attended the Epworth commemorations, which formed part of a broader programme celebrating the signing of Amendment No. 3 into law.
Addressing the gathering, Senator Charles Tawengwa, Minister of State for Harare Metropolitan Provincial Affairs and Devolution and a Zanu‑PF Politburo member, said the party was grateful for private‑sector support that made the commemorations possible.
“Everything which was done for this event and several other events in Harare has been done by Sakunda Holdings,” Tawengwa said. “We applaud Sakunda for showing patriotism and for mobilising resources to ensure that the people of Harare celebrate this historic milestone in unity.”
Other senior leaders also commended the company for its role in logistics, sound, tents, transport and catering for the Epworth rally and similar gatherings previously held in the capital. Party officials said the support demonstrated growing cooperation between Government, Zanu‑PF and the private sector in driving national programmes aligned to Vision 2030.
“This is what we mean by patriotic business,” one senior official said. “When the nation has a cause, our business community must come on board, and Sakunda has led by example.”
Constitution Amendment No. 3 was recently signed into law by President Mnangagwa, with Zanu‑PF describing the amendments as key to consolidating governance reforms and accelerating development.
The Epworth celebrations featured music, cultural performances and addresses by party leaders who urged unity and continued support for Government programmes, adding momentum to ongoing discussions around CAB3 implementation and public‑private partnerships.
Sakunda Holdings has previously been involved in several national initiatives, including fuel supply, agriculture and infrastructure projects.
