Sex‑starved man in court for indecent assault on Form One girl

A Waterfalls man has appeared in court after he allegedly inserted his finger into a Form One girl during an attempted sexual assault.
William Madzimure was brought before the Harare Magistrates’ Court on Friday facing a charge of aggravated indecent assault. He was remanded in custody to Tuesday.
The State alleges that sometime in July, Madzimure lured the minor into his room, where he began kissing her while proposing love. When the girl refused, he allegedly continued kissing her before removing her pants.
The victim reportedly screamed for help, prompting an alert neighbour to rush to the scene and knock on Madzimure’s door. Madzimure then released the girl and fled from his house.
Police launched a manhunt and arrested him a week later.
The case adds to ongoing discussions around child protection and sexual offences enforcement.
