Zera hikes LPG price

THE Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (Zera) has increased the maximum price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), with the new prices taking effect from September 8.
The regulator has pegged the maximum LPG price at US$1.76 per kilogramme, up from US$1.68 per kg announced on August 7.
In local currency, the price increased from ZWG45.16 per kg to ZWG46.83 per kg.
In a statement, Zera said the September prices were calculated in accordance with the Petroleum (Liquid Petroleum Gas Pricing) Regulations, 2021.
"Stakeholders are advised that the LPG prices for September 2026 calculated according to the Petroleum (Liquid Petroleum Gas Pricing) Regulations 90 of 2021 are as follows: US$ price/kg 1.76; ZWG price/kg 46.83," Zera said.
The latest adjustment represents a 4.8% increase in US dollar terms and a 3.7% increase in ZiG terms.
The new pricing will apply to LPG sales from September 8, adding to costs for households and businesses that rely on the fuel for cooking and other energy needs.
