Bulawayo based TTI expands into Botswana parking space

Bulawayo-based Tendy Three Investments (TTI) has expanded into Botswana after securing a 10-year agreement to introduce a modern parking management system in Francistown.

The agreement was signed last week between TTI Botswana and COFC Investment Company, the investment arm of the City of Francistown Council, paving the way for the city's first paid on-street parking system.

Under the arrangement, TTI will provide the technical and operational expertise required to establish and manage the system, while the city will provide the parking infrastructure.

TTI Botswana managing director Thato Moilwa said the project marked a significant milestone for the company as it takes its parking management expertise into a new market.

The initiative is expected to improve parking availability, reduce traffic congestion, enhance road safety and promote more efficient use of public spaces. It is also expected to generate revenue for the municipality to support service delivery and infrastructure development.

The company projects that the operation could create approximately 200 direct jobs and 100 indirect jobs, with local residents expected to account for at least 95 percent of the workforce.

Moilwa said TTI prioritised local recruitment whenever it entered a new market, helping to create employment opportunities while supporting local economic development.

The project is also expected to benefit small businesses through opportunities to supply consumables, personal protective equipment and reflective workwear, alongside other goods and services required for the operation.

Moilwa said the company intended to give local suppliers fair opportunities to participate in the project's supply chain, provided they met its quality, pricing, safety and delivery requirements.

The agreement followed a market-led proposal submitted by TTI Botswana to COFC Investment Company. The proposal underwent evaluation, validation and due diligence in accordance with the investment company's established procedures.

TTI is a diversified group operating in Botswana, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe, with expertise in parking management, parking technology and equipment, and automated enforcement systems.
